CPC rescinds, revotes two housing appropriations
Groton's Community Preservation Committee corrected two town-meeting warrant errors and backed $4.2 million for the Cow Pond Brookfields project.
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Groton's Community Preservation Committee corrected two town-meeting warrant errors and backed $4.2 million for the Cow Pond Brookfields project. Members voted four times to rescind and re-approve FY2027 housing recommendations after figures the committee recommended didn't match what the May 2 Town Meeting actually approved: a $100,000 Affordable Housing Trust appropriation and a $72,929 Housing Coordinator salary, both from the Community Housing Reserve. Member Bruce said, "I have to be more careful when we read these things." The committee also voted without opposition to recommend $4.2 million in borrowing for Cow Pond Brookfields, roughly $1.8 million of which covers a porous parking lot, after presenter Mark said the state match "is still 100% available" but warned any design change would jeopardize eligibility.
Bids are due around September 9 or 10.
