Destination Groton Committee · Meeting of October 21, 2026

GROTON — Destination Groton secured a seat on the Select Board's interview panel for a new part-time economic development coordinator. Member Joni Parker-Roach said the board voted Monday to begin hiring "as soon as possible," and Jeff Gordon's request to join interviews got approval from town official Mark Haddad. The committee is also readying comments for a November 19 public hearing on a Main Street traffic study, after residents complained online about speeding trucks on the corridor's one-mile state-highway stretch.

Separately, members tracked a $60,000 Department of Conservation and Recreation grant for rail-trail wayfinding signage, with roughly $4,371 still unspent on a Society of Cincinnati signage grant that may fund a spring 2027 donor appreciation event.
