The Town of Groton is hosting a Massachusetts General Hospital Blood Mobile at the Groton Center, with residents asked to call the Groton Center at 978-448-1170 to register for a time slot, per a town announcement posted this week.

Separately, the town confirmed that as of May 1, 2026, the real estate tax demand fee increased to $30, the state maximum allowed under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 60, Section 15. Town officials said the fee, charged when a tax or excise payment becomes overdue and a formal demand notice is issued, is reviewed periodically to ensure it reflects the cost of providing services.

The town also continues to point residents to ongoing information on PFAS/PFOS testing and remediation efforts tied to the Groton Water Department and the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District's high school playing fields and water supply, with multiple technical documents available on the Groton Water Department's website.

Residents were also reminded that UMass Memorial Health plans to open a Satellite Emergency Facility at 490 Main Street, which would offer adult and pediatric emergency services comparable to a traditional emergency department, including a helipad for emergency transport, observation beds, and imaging services, according to the town's posted FAQ.
