Groton to End Flock Safety Camera Contract, Plan Permanent Solution

GROTON — Groton will terminate its contract for Flock Safety license-plate reading cameras and commit to developing a permanent policy for consideration at the Spring 2027 Town Meeting, Town Manager Mark Haddad announced Monday.

Haddad announced in a press release posted Monday afternoon that the town will end its Flock Safety camera contract, while pledging that officials will use the time before the Spring 2027 Town Meeting to develop a lasting solution for the license-plate reading system. The announcement was posted prominently to the town's website alongside a link to the full release.

Separately, the Town Clerk's office closed early Monday at 5:30 p.m. ahead of the Labor Day holiday, reopening Tuesday, September 1 at 8 a.m., according to a notice on the town website.
