GROTON — The Great Pond Advisory Committee heard complaints about crowding, drinking and jet skis at Sargisson Beach and tightened its invoice-approval process. Guest Chaney Harper relayed a resident's account of a Sunday in which police visited the beach twice after calls and found "nothing to see here." A member said the same resident reported a crowded parking lot, loud music, drinking, and cooking on the beach. The committee voted 6-0 by roll call to approve February's minutes and separately voted to require committee sign-off on pond-treatment invoices before they reach the town.

Members reported water levels down 10 to 17 inches amid the driest first five and a half months recorded in Boston in 150 years, and a budget review turned up a roughly $4,795 discrepancy tied to a double payment to vendor Solitude that the town had already been refunded.
