Groton Planning Board closes hearing, approves Town Line Road car dealership site plan, 5-0. Vice Chair Paul Hathaway and members Russell Burke, David Bonnett, Phil Francisco and Matthew Killam voted unanimously to close the hearing and approve the application submitted by Aline Gomez de Marais for Beverly Auto Sales, after MassDOT District 3 said no state permit is needed. Town Planner Takeshi Tada will draft a decision for signing October 8.
Separately, member Phil Francisco warned the board has become an "observer" as the Complete Streets Committee, not the Planning Board, drives downtown traffic-calming work with outside consultants; members plan to raise the issue Monday with the Select Board, which also interviews returning candidate Jason Parent for a board vacancy that night. The board also approved its July 30 minutes 5-0.
