Committee Approves DC Trip, New Security Policy
Groton-Dunstable School Committee approved a new Protect Act security policy and a June 2027 Washington, D.C. trip.
School Committee · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Groton-Dunstable School Committee approved a new Protect Act security policy and a June 2027 Washington, D.C. trip. The committee voted 7-0 to adopt policy ACL, which pairs with newly installed Raptor visitor sign-in technology in every district building, and voted 7-0 to approve the eighth-grade D.C. trip for June 7-10, 2027, after last year's multi-bus-company mix-up. Superintendent Dr. Bruno's accepted evaluation goals commit him to passing a fiscal 2028 budget and what he called "the successful passage of a proposition two and a half override in both Groton and Dunstable." The committee also approved warrants totaling $3,131,087.35 and heard that district accountability points fell to 51 percent of possible points for grades three through eight, prompting member Christina to ask what factors drove the decline.
