GROTON — The Park Commission voted 4-0 to back the redesigned Cow Pond fields project and to post Hazel Grove against hunting. Megan Brzezinski of Activitas said a third entrance south of the soccer entrance was added after police and fire input, and Town Manager Mark Haddad said a smaller playground should offset the cost. Resident Adam Brunette asked that Hazel Grove be posted, citing deer drives that spooked horses, and commissioners found no record of any hunting exclusion.
Members also voted 4-0 to seek a parks revolving fund at spring Town Meeting, with a $100,000 maximum mentioned. They held several Cutler Field permits until the February 9 meeting.
