GROTON — The Groton Planning Board discussed a rewrite of multifamily and age-restricted zoning but delayed votes on a housing plan and energy code to April 23. Former board member Bob Collins, now a consultant, said outdated provisions requiring town meeting approval for multifamily concept plans "really are superfluous at this point." Housing Coordinator Fran Stanley told the board Groton needs 412 affordable units to hit the state's 10 percent threshold and is roughly 192 units short. Only three members, David Bonnett, Russell Burke and Phil Francisco, attended in person, with George Barringer joining briefly by Zoom, so the board postponed votes on the housing production plan and a proposed stretch energy code for the spring town meeting warrant.
A Wyman Road subdivision application, Casella Meadows, was also pushed to the next meeting at the applicant's request.
