Select Board · Meeting of February 23, 2026

Groton's Select Board previewed a 22-article warrant for the May 2 town meeting and weighed how to pay for an $812,000 dam repair. Town Manager Mark reported a 6.24 percent health insurance increase, below the 8.39 percent statewide average, leaving about $85,000 of room under the levy limit as snow and ice spending hit $467,000 against a $340,000 budget. Board member Becky Pine pushed to make the country club irrigation project a "separate account that's freestanding," while Highway Department's Brian Callahan said his crews were chasing "a bad problem with pack ice" after an overnight blizzard.

The board voted 5-0 to appoint Deanna DeVito Cass to the Montachusett Joint Transportation Committee and continued a Park Commission interview to March 2 after a candidate could not unmute by phone.
