GROTON — The Select Board unanimously approved a liquor license transfer for Groton Market, resolving a months-long ownership dispute. Attorney Glenn Albrecht told the board that new owner Torben Patel's company, Sri A.M. and U.M. Inc., no longer shares ownership ties with Jay Deep's separately licensed company, which had triggered an earlier denial under Chapter 138. The board set store hours at 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday. Separately, Town Manager Mark reported the fiscal 2027 budget has dropped $354,531 since January, and the board weighed adding $108,000 to the capital budget after Police Chief Mike reported public safety radio equipment failures. The board also backed bringing an $812,500 West Groton Dam repair article, not a roughly $2 million removal, to the May 2 Town Meeting.
