GROTON — The Groton-Dunstable Regional School Committee disclosed a $1,434,455 budget gap between its certified fiscal 2027 budget and town funding levels. Director of Business and Finance Sherry said the shortfall could require about $522,000 in personnel cuts even after $709,927 in expense reductions, mostly from lower health insurance renewals. The committee is expected to recertify a balanced budget at its April 8 meeting, ahead of Groton's May 2 and Dunstable's May 11 town meetings.

One member said "I wouldn't sleep at night" if the district did not keep $100,000 of Excess and Deficiency funds in the budget. The committee also approved payroll and vendor warrants totaling $2,377,673.32 by a 6-0 roll call vote and unanimously approved an annual student service trip to Camp Sunshine in Maine.
