GROTON — The Park Commission approved two field permits and scheduled an April 15 public session on Cow Pond. Members approved a pickup softball league's use of Cow Pond Field 3 from May 3 to June 15, and by voice vote extended a private group's Sunday permit at Cutler Field through May. The chair said the town again proposes $25,000 for property improvements, level since fiscal 2015, and reviewed a $100,000 cap on a new revolving fund.
A member said the Cutler Field requests total about $99,000. Members backed Ground Depot's $660 monthly portable toilet bid while asking it to match a $600 bid. Three seats are open, with papers due March 31.
A member warned that without fee permitting, the commission cannot "keep up the investment we've made."
