Groton-Dunstable School Committee previewed a budget shortfall of up to $1.3 million for fiscal 2027.
School Committee · Meeting of January 14, 2026
Groton-Dunstable School Committee previewed a budget shortfall of up to $1.3 million for fiscal 2027. Dr. Bruno told the committee the superintendent's proposed budget "doesn't represent a level services budget" and already cuts three full-time positions, with a worst-case gap of $1.3 million and a middle scenario of $907,000 depending on town assessments and state Chapter 70 aid. The committee also reviewed a draft three-year strategic vision document built by more than 25 community members, anchored in core values of acceptance, belonging, community support and equity.
Curriculum Director Marion said new public-facing curriculum documents should be published this spring. The committee approved a $4,808,488.52 payroll and vendor warrant by roll call, 7-0, and unanimously approved its December 17 minutes.
