Groton Sewer Commission pressed Pepperell over a still-unsigned treatment agreement and disputed a fee hike from a partner utility.
Sewer Commission · Meeting of October 21, 2026
Groton Sewer Commission pressed Pepperell over a still-unsigned treatment agreement and disputed a fee hike from a partner utility. Chair Jim Geminer said the town "hasn't found a signed copy" of the intermunicipal agreement and warned that means Pepperell probably "aren't legally obligated to give us a true-up in 120 days." Business Manager Lauren Curry reported a utility identified as AIR raised a sewer connection fee from $6,000 to $6,375 without notice; the commission will pay only the original $6,000 for now. A Pepperell plant representative, Paul, said this year's treatment-cost reconciliation ran about $58,000.
Business Manager Lauren Curry said the high school's sewer bill should drop into the 5,000s after a billing credit. Members voted unanimously to accept the October 7 minutes and set November 4 and November 25 as their next meeting dates.
