Sewer Panel Applies $60,000 Credit To Bills
Groton's Sewer Commission banked a $60,000 credit from Pepperell's wastewater true-up.
Sewer Commission · Meeting of September 30, 2026
Groton's Sewer Commission banked a $60,000 credit from Pepperell's wastewater true-up. Paul Brinkman of the Pepperell Department of Public Works, which runs Groton's regional treatment plant, said the preliminary true-up showed Groton's costs ran well under budget, and the commission plans to apply roughly $8,000 of the credit to each of its next several monthly payments rather than hold it in reserve. Member Bruce Eason said he preferred that approach "because I think that's more transparent." Commissioners also discussed a flow spike of up to 125,000 gallons in a single day in mid-September, which Brinkman attributed to "rain-induced infiltration" rather than illicit inflow.
The board separately voted unanimously to commit up to $3,000 toward a new town hall service window and approved its September 16 minutes.
