GROTON — The Groton Planning Board voted to endorse a Sand Hill Road lot-line swap and began drafting a zoning bylaw fix for the May 2 Spring Town Meeting warrant. Engineer Jeff Hannaford presented the 2,007-square-foot swap between applicant Brad Bobsien and abutters the Ferriolas at 194 and 204 Sand Hill Road, approved 6-0. The board also weighed doubling its shared-driveway review fee from $1,000 to $2,000 after a recent project cost $3,000 despite the existing $1,000 cap.
The zoning change would codify a 20-day window for appealing site plan decisions, following town counsel's advice during an unrelated sign-permit review. Member Paul Hathaway said accessory dwelling unit construction "doesn't happen overnight," predicting a "peak" only once interest rates ease. The board also set a March 12 hearing for MIT Lincoln Laboratory's new satellite dish application.
