GROTON — The Groton Planning Board approved a shared driveway permit and backed two Community Preservation Committee funding letters. Members unanimously approved the special permit for 10 Worthen Drive, applicant Jay Gelson, and voted to support fiscal 2027 funding for the town's housing coordinator position plus a $300,000 request for the Affordable Housing Trust. The board continued hearings on UMass Memorial's Neshoba sign permit to February 12 and on the Casella Meadows subdivision to February 26, and pushed the Village at Shepley Hill bond release decision to February 26 pending a waiver request over boundary monuments.
Member Russell Burke called the town's age-restricted housing bylaw "an open wound in the zoning bylaw that we should really prioritize fixing," and the board agreed to make rewriting it this year's top zoning priority.
