Planning Board · Meeting of January 8, 2026

GROTON — The Groton Planning Board voted to approve a site plan for a used car dealership at 14 Town Line Road. Members closed the public hearing 7-0 before voting 6-0 to approve the plan with conditions, including a ban on storing excess flammable materials and a requirement to maintain entrance and exit signage. Member Russell Burke had pressed the applicant on whether the hand-drawn layout actually left enough room to back out of 90-degree spaces, saying "this drawing is just not enough proof to me to feel confident." The board also continued the Casella Meadows subdivision hearing to January 22 after peer reviewer Bob Collins flagged a yield-plan issue, and voted 5-1, with Phil Francisco abstaining, to let Groton Hill Music Center use its emergency access for the Groton Road Race without annual board approval.
