School Committee · Meeting of February 25, 2026

Groton-Dunstable School Committee reviewed three FY27 budget scenarios that could force up to $1.4 million in cuts. A business office staffer identified only as Sherry told the board the governor's budget offers just $75 in new Chapter 70 aid per student, half of what the district assumed, pushing the likely "scenario three" cut from $1.2 million to as much as $1.4 million and threatening seven to ten more staff positions after 30-plus cuts over three years. Groton resident Nick DeGatis urged officials to "become more proactive" about new town revenue sources.

The committee reported 65 letters so far in its Chapter 70 advocacy campaign, approved a policy update, approved February 11 minutes, approved a March 27 baseball field trip, and approved $3,161,390.76 in payroll and vendor warrants by a 6-0 roll call vote.
