Sewer Commission · Meeting of February 4, 2026

GROTON — The Groton Sewer Commission moved to seek a $20,000 reserve transfer as a budget cushion. Chair Jim Gmeiner presided as members weighed a possible fiscal 2026 revenue shortfall, including $5,000 in budgeted inspection income tied to a large project that is no longer happening. A member said the thing to avoid in an enterprise fund is "a deficit because it goes on the tax rate." The commission also moved to pick up one third of the business manager's recent salary increase, contingent on water covering one third of the sewer assistant's compensation.

Business Manager Lauren Crory reported a leak of 10 to 20 gallons per hour at the Groton-Dunstable high school, which may have inflated flows since the school was connected to water.
