Groton's Sewer Commission disclosed a $7,500 connection fee on a Main Street condo conversion and moved to review more permits as a full board.
Sewer Commission · Meeting of August 5, 2026
Groton's Sewer Commission disclosed a $7,500 connection fee on a Main Street condo conversion and moved to review more permits as a full board. Chair Jim Geminer said 117 Main Street's conversion to six two-bedroom units raised its bedroom count from nine to 12, triggering the fee plus a $150 application charge. Member Bruce Eason said, "My feeling is to begin with I'd like to see it," prompting Geminer to agree borderline permits will now go to the full board rather than being decided solely by the chair.
The commission also discussed a proposed three-year, $10,000-cap consulting agreement with engineering firm Weston & Sampson, set an August 13 tour of the Pepperell Wastewater Treatment Plant, and approved its July 22 minutes 3-0 on a roll call vote.
